The Authority has developed the following below three (3) regulations in line with the provisions of the Energy Act 2019:
Draft Regulations | Objective |
Draft Energy (Integrated National Energy Plan) regulations, 2023 | To provide a framework that will ensure a coherent and coordinated approach to energy planning in the country in order to meet the country’s energy needs. |
Draft Energy (Electricity Tariff) Regulations, 2022 | To provide a fair, transparent and data-driven methodology of determining tariffs for a sustainable electricity sector. |
Draft Energy (Electricity Regulatory Accounts) Regulations, 2022 | To prescribe reporting procedures and requirements for licensees, intended to achieve uniformity and consistent reporting of elements that are required for tariff setting, approval and monitoring. |
Stakeholders are requested to review the aforementioned draft regulations that were published on the Kenya Gazette on 16th June 2023 and 11th August 2023 for stakeholders and public comments. Feedback on the draft regulations can be sent via email to info@epra.go.ke or by written memoranda and delivered to the Authority’s head office or satellite offices not later than Friday 17th November, 2023
