Mr Gitari is currently Director Planning, Ministry of Energy and the alternate to the Energy Principal Secretary on the EPRA Board. Mr Gitari is an experienced economist with more than 25 years of public service spanning diverse national and sub-national responsibilities.
As an Executive in Charge, Mr. Gitari was instrumental in pioneering the Constituencies Development Fund Board Structure (CDF), currently the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Board, in its formative stages.
He holds a Masters Degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) Degree from University of Nairobi. He is currently responsible for Central Planning and Project Monitoring Unit (CPPMU) support function across the Energy Sector including development of Sector policies, strategic planning support and implementation of related projects.
