Mr. Masini J. Ichwara is currently the Director of Planning in the Central Planning and Programme Monitoring Unit at the Ministry of Energy. He previously served at the same level at the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development, State Department for Industrialization.
Ichwara has comprehensive national and international development level experience spanning over 25 years having worked for UNDP-Somalia as a Research Officer, UNDP-Kenya as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and as a consultant for UNFPA, UNICEF and UNWomen. He previously worked for the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and the Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at National Treasury and Planning. Mr. Ichwara has finalized his PhD in Economics from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science degree from Egerton University. He has a number of professional qualifications from various institutions across the world.
