|Mr. Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria is the Acting Director General, a position he has held since his appointment on 14th December 2020. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Bargoria was the Legal Advisor in the State Department of Petroleum.|
Mr. Bargoria has vast experience in the Energy and Petroleum sectors with keen interest on policy formulation, regulation and in project & structured finance. He played a central role in in the writing of the Energy Act (2019) and Petroleum Act (2019). He is currently the Chairman of the Government’s First Oil Committee charged with delivery of First Oil for Kenya.
Mr. Bargoria is a Certified Public Secretary in Kenya (CPS), Chartered Secretary of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators UK (ICSA) and a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN). He holds a master’s degree in Petroleum Law and Policy from University of Dundee-Scotland.
Mr. Bargoria has previously worked with various organisations in both the public and private sector including Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) and the Africa Centric Oil & Gas Risk Consultancy.
